On November 22, a donation ceremony was held at the multifunctional hall of the Electrical Engineering Building at Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST). Attendees included Chen Xuezi, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering; Chen Yu, Director of the Department of Applied Electronic Engineering; Professor Kang Yong, former Dean of the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering and Director of the Key Laboratory of Power Electronics and Energy Management under the Ministry of Education; Professor Chen Cai from the Department of Applied Electronic Engineering; Bai Xiaoqing, President of Xi’an ActionPower Electric Co., Ltd.; Xiao Jianjiang, Sales Director of the Northern Region; Shao Manyuan, HR Director; and faculty and student representatives from HUST.
The event was hosted by Chen Yu, who introduced the guests and reviewed HUST’s prestigious history as a leading institution in China’s "211 Project," "985 Project," and the "Double First-Class" initiative. Chen emphasized the importance of the collaboration, highlighting ActionPower’s role as a leader in the domestic power electronics sector and its commitment to social responsibility. This donation is expected to strengthen industry-university cooperation, foster innovation, and contribute to talent development and national progress.
ActionPower donated two models of self-developed test power supply equipment, the PRE20 and PRD series, which will support teaching and research activities at HUST’s School of Electrical Engineering. During the ceremony, Professor Kang Yong presented President Bai Xiaoqing with a commemorative plaque and donation certificate. Chen Xuezi and Bai Xiaoqing unveiled the donated equipment together.
In his speech, Bai Xiaoqing expressed his honor in supporting HUST with this donation, demonstrating ActionPower’s respect for and commitment to advancing scientific research in higher education. As a leading company in test and special-purpose power supplies, ActionPower is dedicated to technological innovation and academic collaboration in power electronics and energy conversion. Bai pledged to deepen cooperation with HUST, expand talent development initiatives, and accelerate the commercialization of technological achievements.
Following the ceremony, Bai delivered a keynote speech titled "Applications and Future Development of Test Power Supply in Renewable Energy Scenarios," engaging in discussions with HUST’s faculty and students. The ActionPower team also visited the university’s Advanced Electrical Materials and Devices Research Center Laboratory, where they explored ongoing projects addressing critical technical challenges in power and energy storage and discussed opportunities for further collaboration.
ActionPower has made similar donations to other top-tier universities, including Xi’an Jiaotong University, Tsinghua University, Northwestern Polytechnical University, Hefei University of Technology, Zhejiang University, and Harbin Institute of Technology. These efforts not only enhance teaching and research but also promote awareness and adoption of domestic brands in China’s power electronics industry.
The donated equipment, part of ActionPower’s flagship test power supply series, rivals international brands with its advanced features, including high power density, broad output range, high accuracy, dynamic response, and strong simulation capabilities. Widely used in photovoltaics, energy storage, electric vehicles, aerospace, power grids, industry, and scientific research, this series meets diverse needs from kilowatts to megawatts.
